What does an in stock electric lease mean?

An in stock car lease means that your vehicle is built and delivered to the UK already. Lead times are much shorter as you don't need to wait for your car to be built to certain specifications (which is known as a 'factory order') or shipped from another country.

We keep a number of EVs stored at our dealership so that we can deliver your in stock electric car within just 2 weeks.

Why choose Rivervale for electric car leasing?

We guarantee to give you the best price on your in stock EV deal and we never take admin fees - that's guaranteed. Road tax and free UK delivery are also included.

Our car lease deals allow you to drive a brand-new EV while making fixed monthly payments. Choose your preferred electric vehicle and tailor your contract to suit you, depending on your annual mileage, initial rental and contract length.

Once we've given you your personal price and your application's accepted, you'll get access to our online customer portal which gives you real-time updates on your car's delivery. You could be driving a new electric car within a matter of weeks.

We pride ourselves on delivering the best customer service and our car leasing service is rated 5* on TrustPilot from over 2,500 independent reviews. So, if you're looking for a new electric or hybrid car to be delivered fast, our in stock deals are a great choice.

Don't forget to browse our complete range of electric car lease deals if you are happy to wait slightly longer for your vehicle to be delivered.

Which electric car models are in stock now?

Our collection of in stock electric cars changes frequently due to the limited number of vehicles available - new EVs can be snapped up very quickly!

We encourage our customers to check back often to find popular models like the Nissan Leaf, the hybrid Toyota Yaris and the Kira Niro. You may also find luxury options like the Mercedes-Benz EQC, as well as the all-electric Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.

If you can't find the in stock electric car lease you were looking for, contact our team and we'll be happy to find you your next EV. We have both business and personal lease options available at fantastic prices.

Is it cheaper to lease an electric car?

Leasing is a cost-effective way to switch to electric and can be cheaper than buying your EV upfront. Many drivers find the large upfront payment required for buying an EV outright to be unaffordable, so find it hard to make the switch.

However, with leasing, you make fixed monthly payments for the duration of your deal. You won't own the car so you don't need to make a large balloon payment at the end of the contract, like other finance options such as PCP. You also don't need to worry about any depreciation costs.

You should be aware that with any car lease, you'll pay an initial rental, which is normally 3, 6 or 9 months' worth of payments. So, if you found an in stock electric car lease that cost £200 per month, and you wanted to pay a 3 month initial rental, that would be £600 to be paid upfront. The initial rental is taken off the total cost of your lease, so the more you pay upfront, the less you'll pay each month.

Once you've switched, you can save money on fuel, as charging is generally cheaper than filling up a petrol or diesel car. Maintenance of electric cars is also normally cheaper, due to EVs featuring the latest technology and upgrades.

In Stock Electric & Hybrid Car Leasing FAQ's

Your questions answered

What is electric car leasing?

With leasing you cover the cost of the vehicle usage rather than the purchase price which means that your money goes further.

The benefits of leasing really lend themselves to electric cars which currently tend to have higher initial purchase prices as the vehicle technology continues to evolve. Many electric car owners rent their car batteries anyway so for many people leasing the entire vehicle may be a smarter course of action.

In summary, leasing provides motorist with an opportunity to drive a state-of-the-art, electric car for an affordable monthly price.

Is electric car leasing worth it?

Electric vehicles are on the cutting edge of automotive technology and are progressing quickly with new and improved models being released all the time. Purchasing an electric vehicle at this stage could mean committing money to a branch of technology that could become outdated relatively quickly.

With electric car leasing you are only locked in for the duration of the contract, so can rest assured that you’ll always be able to drive the latest and best electric technology available.

For many people, the most important reason to drive electric is to reduce their impact on the planet. With zero exhaust emissions electric cars are far less polluting than petrol or diesel vehicles.

Another major advantage is the low running costs associated with electric vehicles as the cost of electricity per mile is a fraction of the cost of petrol or diesel. And there are also several tax benefits and incentives available to electric car users which can make a big difference to leasing affordability.

Do I need to install an electric charging point at home?

Whilst the electric charger network is growing rapidly across the UK, you may also want to consider installing a home charger for maximum convenience.

To install a home charger you’ll need the following:

  • Off road parking
  • Property ownership or landlord permission
  • An electrical consumer unit

Rivervale leasing provide a unique service where the cost of home charger installation can be added to the monthly leasing rental. This helps to spread the cost over the duration of the contract and ensures peace of mind.

Do electric cars need an MOT and servicing?

Electric cars do need servicing at the same intervals as any petrol or diesel car but a major strength of electric is ease of maintenance. Electric drive trains have far fewer moving parts than conventional engines (less things to go wrong). And consumables such as brake pads last a lot longer on electric cars which incorporate regenerative braking systems.

Electric cars are subject to an MOT after three years (same as any car) but with no emissions test required and with fewer parts to check, you’d expect far less issues than a petrol or diesel car.
